Flock Browser

Here is a tech blog post that’s a little dated. I’m using flock 1.21 and the author of this post is talking about version 1. However, I too have dumped Firefox for Flock. I have done so for many of the reasons in the article:

Is there any reason to use flock if you’re not into the social media stuff? I am not a big Facebook fan boy.
As an aside, I love how the Google Ads on this page are all about Flock of Seagulls

Thanks for checking out my blog!
IMHO, It’s not just about Facebook. I too don’t *LOVE* Facebook or any of the social networking sites. My friends and family use them some, and so I guess that makes me a user of them too. Definitely not a fanboy here.
What I like about Flock is the integration with RSS feeds and other Web services like Youtube, Gmail, and social link sites sites like Magnolia, Digg and Livejournal. Once you set up your username and password, Flock will pull in many of your account settings into the interface. So in Youtube, you can see thumbnails of your favorite videos in the panel above your browser. Its that little bit more of functionality that keeps me using it. Also I have backups of most of my bookmarks sent to my Magnolia account automatically so if something happens to my computer all is not lost.
In terms of that ads, I only wish I saw flock of seaguls or any other 80s britpop. The closest thing I’m getting is ‘Flock of Storks,’ as my wife is pregnant ATM.
